BIOGRAPHYThe how and why behind what I do

My goal is to be the very best at what I do – helping dog owners better understand their dogs while providing the most up-to-date and effective dog training and consulting services you can find. I think it is important for a trainer and behavior consultant to be certified. Period. We should be certified by organizations that really know their stuff. Certification for dog trainers and behavior consultants has been around for years now and there's really no reason why someone working in this field shouldn't have these certifications, or be working towards them. Good certification comes with regular participation in continuing education from educators who are the very best in their field and it ensures that a trainer or consultant is conducting themselves in accordance with professional codes of conduct and codes of ethics. I pledge to remain in good standing with the professional organizations I am a member of and I pledge to comply with all of the requirements of the certifications I hold.
To do that, I adhere to all of these guiding principles:
  • An abiding commitment to continuing education and professional development
  • A dedication to using only the most up-to-date, scientifically-sound, modern, and humane training methods available
  • A promise to never settle for “how it’s always been done,” but instead to develop the best and safest ways to provide safe and effective training and behavior consulting services
  • A boundless love of and desire to help all dogs
  • Above-and-beyond care for my human clients too!
